Herman Miller introduces new colorways of iconic Eames designs inspired by the archives

Both color updates represent the timeless appeal and dynamic nature of Eames designs: as relevant today as when they were first conceived.

UNDER EMBARGO - On April 23rd, 2024 Herman Miller will be introducing two new vibrant colorways of iconic Eames designs: the Eames Hang-It-All (HIA)and Eames Molded Plywood Lounge Chair with Wood Base (LCW).

The Eames Hang-It-All (HIA)

One of the most well-known products in the vast Eames catalog, the HIA perfectly embodies Charles and Ray’s approach to design: simple materials rendered beautifully with thoughtful functionality. The HIA color update honours the Eames legacy, inspired by never-before-seen sketches by Ray Eames that depict the now iconic Hang-It-All with a blue frame and red spheres. Ray’s influence on the color direction is significant, thanks to her early career as a painter, and is often mentioned as part of her lasting influence on 20th century design. The new Stonewash Blue Red colour way is available from $295.

The LCW will be newly available in ochre, inspired by an original product list from the 1946 Eames MoMA exhibition which specified the LCW in vibrant colors alongside the natural wood options—including an ochre yellow. This specification will now be made available to contemporary customers with the new launch. The chair will be available from $1,195.
